What is the best time of year to go on safari?
Best time of year to go on safari in Tanzania and Namibia is June to October, Botswana and South Africa May to September, however other seasons offer many benefits that will be discussed and explained.
How long should we plan to be on safari?
Depending on budget the average safari duration is seven to eight days and can be longer.
What is a ‘typical day’ on safari?
Early morning wake-up call at 6AM, depart for game drive when the temperatures are cool and animals are active. Return to camp for breakfast or enjoy a bush breakfast in the wilderness. Head back to camp at approximately 11AM for lunch and rest. After tea, about 3PM drive back into the bush for game viewing, returning to camp before dark for cocktails and dinner, often around the camp fire. Depending on the region, night game drives are offered. Vehicles are equipped with spotlights and professional trackers.
Explain about safety in East and Southern Africa?
No country can be one hundred percent safe! Common sense and standard security precautions are advised. We recommend a travel money belt or pouch for under clothing. We do not recommend keeping cash in purses or handbags/hand luggage. Safes are provided at all the camps. Avoid walking in the cities at night.
