Jen, thanks for the Luxury African Safaris trip of a lifetime you organized through “Our Africa Safaris.” Your guidance and selection of activities gave us the best taste of South Africa. You really know your country. The people were so friendly and the food was great.
Going to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe to see the powerful falls and doing the nature walk was amazing. We walked from a desert climate into a rainforest. Staying at The Elephant Camp was quite an experience. I never thought I’d stay in a tent that seemed like a 5-star hotel room, with my own private balcony and splash pool. The sunset at the Gorge cocktail hour seemed unreal to be in the middle of the bush being served appetizers and drinks from a linen tablecloth, not a sole around, not a light, not a building, just animal sounds and of course a beautiful sunset. The people at camp were so friendly and would go out of their way to help you. Of course petting and feeding elephants, not in an enclosure, duh we’re in Africa, was a chance of a lifetime. Well, I never thought I’d sit on a porch petting a full grown cheetah either.
The Chobe Chilwero Sanctuary in Botswana was unique in that I felt while in the room I could step outside into New Mexico, except for the baboons, warthogs and mongoose running around the property. The Humvee safari trips into the wild were peaceful and quiet, being in their environment and to see animals just walking around, eating and drinking. Being totally surrounded by elephants in our vehicle gave me an appreciation for their size and herd rules.
Cape Town water front is a bustling area of activity from shops to restaurants to entertainment, something for all. Table Mountain was an awesome view, lunch where the oceans meet and winery tour shows the diversity of this place.
Driving along the coast, West to East also brought into perspective the “largeness” that is Africa. Getting to put my toes into the Indian Ocean, even though I tricked our fellow travelers into thinking the water was warm, was great.
In Plettenberg Bay at Tsala Treetops Lodge made me feel like I was doing a zip-line just walking to my lodge. So thick are the trees and the balcony view just nailed it. Heated floor, heated towels, fireplace and bed warmers made a perfect beginning and ending to our days there.

‘Wildlife, Wine and Culture’ was absolutely the trip of my life! Experiencing the great creatures in their own habitat was a privilege which has touched me profoundly. The beautiful simplicity of their existence is something that every human should absorb at least once in their life.
Our accommodations at every stop were just beautiful! The employees who took care of us -safari guides, lodge personnel, etc.- were lovely and gracious; they took great pride in showing us their beloved country.
In every detail of our trip, Jenny and her staff at ‘Our Africa Safaris’ have shown their complete dedication to our experience.
THIS is the way to see Africa — and was my first trip of many!
